Our goal for every person at Post Road…

Know Jesus more fully.

God created us. Not only that, He loves us so much that He wants everyone to know Him now and spend eternity with Him.

(John 17:3)

KNOW

Grow in relationship with God and other believers.

Growing in knowledge and understanding of God means we are learning more about Him and growing deeper in our relationship with Him.

(2 Peter 3:18)

GROW

Serve God in some way.

When we truly know God, who is love, our natural response is a desire to love and serve Him in return.

(1 Peter 4:10-11)

SERVE

Share the love of God with someone who needs to meet Him.

We possess the best news in the world, and love propels us to share it with those who haven’t heard. Love wants everyone to have a chance to respond to God’s offer of salvation.

(John 3:16)

What do we believe?

Here for Warren.

Here for Good.

Here for Warren. Here for Good.

Post Road is Here for Good.

Here’s our story…

Beginnings

1928

The church was started when 14 people gathered in October 1928 in a vacant storeroom at E. 38th St. & Pendleton Pike, eventually meeting in a building on Kitley Avenue. At that time, the church was named Vernon Christian Church.

1930s – 1950s

A building was purchased at 38th & Pendleton Pike where they had originally met and the church’s name was changed to East 38th Street Christian Church. When they outgrew that meeting space, property at E. 38th Street just east of Arlington was purchased and the congregation relocated to the newly-constructed building in August 1953.

The church continued to grow and be an active part of the community. Gradually, the neighborhood demographics changed. The church voted to sell the property to a congregation that could reach out effectively to the community.

1985 – 1986

Thirteen acres of land further east, on Post Road just north of 10th Street, was purchased. The land was cleared, a building constructed, and the move was completed in late 1986.

The church has made a lasting impact on the community by offering various opportunities for people in the neighborhood to engage. These include basketball leagues, 5th Quarters (held after Warren Central High School home football games), and a large Easter Eggstravaganza event the day before Easter. Additionally, we hosted special Christmas Eve candlelight services alongside our regular weekly worship gatherings, creating meaningful moments for connection and celebration.

The Modern Era

1990s – 2010s

2020

As COVID-19 disrupted life for people around the world, the church had to quickly adapt to ensure that people could continue worshiping while staying connected. Online services became a new way to reach the congregation, and we also held a couple of “drive-in” services, where families could park in the lot, remain in their cars, and tune in to an outdoor service via an FM transmitter. Thankfully, these creative solutions lasted only a few months, and we were soon able to safely resume in-person gatherings, following precautions to distance until it was safe to gather fully once again.

2024

After several staff transitions, we were excited to welcome Joel Eynon as our new full-time Lead Minister, who began his ministry with us in October. Nick Bell, who grew up within the PRCC Student Ministry, joined the team as part-time Student Ministry Lead in early 2024. In March, we were also blessed to have Kyle Bellinger come on board as part-time Worship Leader. We are eager to see how God will continue to work through the ministry of Post Road Christian Church to connect people on the east side of Indianapolis to Jesus.
